  • The Mitsubishi A6M2 “Zero” was developed at the beginning of World War II as a light, maneuverable fighter aircraft for the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Force.

Its low weight, coupled with a powerful engine, gave it exceptional maneuverability and range.

The Zero played a central role in the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and initially secured Japan a superior air position in the Pacific.

As the war progressed, however, their weaknesses became apparent, particularly a lack of armor and insufficient firepower compared to newer Allied fighters.

Some restored examples are now preserved in museums around the world and demonstrate the technical state of the Japanese aviation industry at that time.
