  • The “Little Otter” was a compact tugboat that was used on North American waterways in the first half of the 20th century.

It was specifically built for use on narrow rivers and in smaller ports to maneuver cargo barges and other loads.

During World War II, it provided support services by towing military cargo to strategically important ports.

In the post-war years, the tug received modernized machinery and remained in operation for a long time.

Today, a restored example of the “Little Otter” serves as a museum or excursion ship and reminds us of the traditional era of small, versatile workboats.
