Fokker E.III Slow Flyer kit, 450 mm wingspan, 1:20, Clark-Y, Tony Ray
The Fokker E.III was a German monoplane fighter aircraft that was used in the First World War in 1915.
With its synchronized machine gun armament, which enabled safe firing through the propeller circle, it briefly brought the so-called “Fokker plague” to the German air forces.
It provided clear air superiority during this phase, but was soon surpassed by newer Allied aircraft types.
Nevertheless, the E.III marked an important milestone in the development of fighter aircraft.
A few examples can still be seen in museums today and serve as a reminder of this technological breakthrough.
